Intermittent trip traced to a garden light
An RCD in Strathfield South tripped only after rain. We isolated circuits one at a time, insulation-tested each leg and found water in a garden light joint. We replaced the fitting and re-made the joint in a proper enclosure. Postcode 2136 is on our daily Inner West run, and every fault finding job there is quoted up front and completed to AS/NZS 3000. Most of the housing on this side of Strathfield South is post-war brick veneer, so we planned cable routes and fixing points around that before touching a tool.
