Intermittent trip traced to a garden light
An RCD in Balmain tripped only after rain. We isolated circuits one at a time, insulation-tested each leg and found water in a garden light joint. We replaced the fitting and re-made the joint in a proper enclosure. Peninsula suburb — salt air corrodes outdoor boards; heritage overlays limit exterior conduit runs, so recessed weatherproof enclosures are the norm. Postcode 2041 is on our daily Inner West run, and every fault finding job there is quoted up front and completed to AS/NZS 3000.
