## Switchboard Upgrades
URL: https://empireelectricalcontractors.com.au/services/switchboard-upgrades
Safe, compliant switchboard replacements and upgrades

Old ceramic fuses, tripping breakers or a hot meter box? We replace and upgrade switchboards to modern, safe, code-compliant standards - usually in a day.

### What's included
- Ceramic fuse replacements with modern circuit breakers
- RCD safety switch installation on every circuit
- Full switchboard replacement and rewiring
- Meter box repair, relocation and weatherproofing
- Sub-board installation for extensions or granny flats
- Compliance certificate issued on completion

### Overview
A modern switchboard is the single most important safety upgrade in an older Sydney home. If your board still has ceramic fuses, a rewireable main switch, or no RCDs (safety switches), it predates current NSW wiring rules — and it will not disconnect a fault fast enough to prevent shock or fire. Our licensed electricians replace old boards with a fully compliant unit built around individual RCBOs (a combined safety switch and circuit breaker on every circuit), a properly sized main switch, surge protection where appropriate, and clean, labelled cabling you can actually read.
Most Inner West and Canterbury-Bankstown homes we visit fall into one of three buckets: a 1970s-90s board with a mix of ceramic fuses and old breakers that needs a like-for-like modern replacement; a heritage terrace where the meter box also needs weatherproofing or relocation; or a renovation that needs a bigger board and a sub-board for a new extension, granny flat or EV charger. Every job includes a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW), Ausgrid notification where required, and a written test result sheet.
We keep spare boards, RCBOs and enclosures on the van, so the vast majority of switchboard upgrades are completed in a single day with power off for 2-4 hours during the swap. If we uncover something serious mid-job — perforated tails, an overloaded neutral, aluminium wiring — we tell you before we do anything about it and adjust the quote before continuing.

### Fixed pricing
$1,800–$3,500 AUD per board · 60-month workmanship warranty · typical duration 5 hours

### How we handle it
1. **Isolate and inspect** — We shut off the main, remove the front panel and photograph every circuit, breaker rating and cable termination.
2. **Test tails and earth** — We test the main tails for insulation resistance, verify the earth stake and check the neutral link is properly torqued.
3. **Quote a fixed price** — Before any tools come out we hand you a written quote covering the enclosure, RCBOs, surge protection, testing and the compliance certificate.
4. **Notify Ausgrid and schedule outage** — If the meter or main switch needs isolating we lodge the paperwork and book the outage window with you.
5. **Swap the board** — New enclosure installed, individual RCBOs on every circuit, surge protection where appropriate, cabling labelled and terminated to spec.
6. **Test and certify** — Every circuit is tested to AS/NZS 3000, we hand you the Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW) and walk you through the labelling.

### Standards
- AS/NZS 3000:2018 Clause 2.6 — RCD protection
- AS/NZS 3000:2018 Section 4 — Selection & installation of switchgear
- NSW Service and Installation Rules (SIR) 2019 — meter box requirements

### FAQs
**How do I know if my switchboard needs an upgrade?**
Signs include ceramic fuses instead of breakers, frequent tripping, no safety switches (RCDs), burning smells or warmth from the board, or a board over 25 years old. NSW law also requires RCDs on all new work.

**How long does a switchboard upgrade take?**
Most residential switchboards are replaced in a single day, with power off for 2-4 hours during the swap. Larger boards or those needing meter relocation can take 1-2 days.

**Do I need council approval?**
No council approval is required for like-for-like switchboard upgrades. We handle the electrical Certificate of Compliance (CoC) and notify Ausgrid where required.

**Will you install safety switches (RCDs) on every circuit?**
Yes - it's now NSW code for any board work we touch. Every circuit gets an individual RCBO (safety switch + breaker combined) as standard.

**How much does a switchboard upgrade cost in Sydney?**
Most single-phase residential upgrades land between $1,800 and $3,500 fully installed, including RCBOs on every circuit, new main switch, surge protection where appropriate and the compliance certificate. Three-phase boards, meter relocations and asbestos-backed board removals cost more — we quote a fixed price on site before touching anything.

**Can I add solar or an EV charger to my existing board?**
Sometimes yes, but often the existing board is already full or unable to isolate a new high-load circuit safely. We audit the board as part of the EV or solar quote and only recommend an upgrade if it's genuinely needed — if there's room and the tails are sound, we'll just add the new circuit.

**Is asbestos in the meter box a problem?**
Some pre-1985 Sydney homes have asbestos backing panels in the meter box. We identify it, contain it safely and dispose of it under NSW regulations as part of the switchboard upgrade — never sand, cut or break it dry.

## LED Downlights & Lighting
URL: https://empireelectricalcontractors.com.au/services/led-downlights
LED downlights, feature lighting and full home relights

Swap old halogens or dark rooms for bright, efficient LED downlights. Dimmable, cool-running, IC-4 rated - installed by licensed Sydney electricians with clean, professional cut-outs.

### What's included
- LED downlight supply and install (dimmable options)
- Halogen to LED conversion (safer, cooler, 90% less power)
- Feature and pendant lighting installation
- Outdoor, garden and security lighting
- Sensor and smart lighting integration
- Full home relights and lighting design

### Overview
LED downlights are the single easiest upgrade you can make to a Sydney home — they cut lighting power by around 90%, run cool enough to sit safely against ceiling insulation (IC-4 rated), and last 15+ years without a bulb change. We supply and install a curated range of quality LEDs — no cheap flickering imports — with matched dimmers, warm or cool colour temperatures, and neat plaster cut-outs that don't need patching.
Most jobs are a straight halogen-to-LED swap: old fittings out, new LEDs wired to the existing circuits, dimmer swapped if the customer wants dimming. Ceiling downlights that used to sit inside a heat cage can now be pushed flush and covered with insulation, so you stop losing heated or cooled air through the ceiling. For larger relights we plan the layout room by room — one 9-10W LED per 1.2-1.5m² of floor space, evenly spaced, 60cm off walls — and can add sensor lighting, exterior lighting and smart controls at the same time.
If you're renovating, adding pendants, or fitting out a kitchen island we handle the design as well as the install. Every job includes cleanup, testing, and a workmanship warranty on the fittings we supply.

### Fixed pricing
$65–$130 AUD per fitting installed · 60-month workmanship warranty · typical duration 3 hours

### How we handle it
1. **Walk the rooms** — We measure each room, mark ceiling positions and recommend colour temperature and dimming per zone.
2. **Spec the matched pair** — We select the exact driver-dimmer combination so there's no buzz, no flicker, and full 5-100% dim range.
3. **Isolate the circuits** — We turn off the lighting circuits at the switchboard and confirm dead with a two-pole tester.
4. **Remove old fittings** — Halogens and transformers out, ceiling cavity checked for insulation clearance.
5. **Install and terminate** — New IC-4 rated LEDs installed with plaster-clean cut-outs, drivers safely secured above the ceiling.
6. **Test, tune and hand over** — We tune every dimmer, confirm scenes work, and leave you the driver spec sheet for warranty claims.

### Standards
- AS/NZS 3000:2018 Section 4 — Selection & installation
- AS/NZS 60598.2.2 — Recessed luminaires safety

### FAQs
**Can I replace my halogen downlights with LEDs?**
Yes and you should - halogens run at 300°C+, waste power and are a known cause of ceiling fires. Modern LEDs use ~10% of the power, last 15+ years and are IC-4 rated to sit safely against insulation.

**Are your LEDs dimmable?**
Yes - we install trailing-edge dimmable LEDs paired with a compatible dimmer as standard on request. Not all LED/dimmer combos work, so we spec the pair together.

**Do you patch the ceiling if you move a light?**
We leave a clean, professional plaster cut. Full patching, sanding and paint is a plasterer's job - we can recommend one or coordinate with yours.

**How many downlights do I need per room?**
As a rule: one 9-10W LED per 1.2-1.5m² of floor space, spaced evenly and 60cm off walls. We do a free lighting layout as part of the quote.

**Warm white or cool white — what should I pick?**
Warm white (2700-3000K) suits bedrooms, living rooms and hallways. Neutral (3500-4000K) suits kitchens, bathrooms and workspaces. Cool white (5000K+) is really only for garages, workshops and commercial spaces — it's harsh in a home.

**Can you install pendants and feature lighting too?**
Yes — pendants over kitchen islands, chandeliers, wall sconces, LED strip in kitchens and bathrooms, and outdoor feature lighting. We supply or install customer-supplied fittings.

## EV Charger Installation
URL: https://empireelectricalcontractors.com.au/services/ev-chargers
Home EV chargers installed properly, first time

Charge overnight at home. We install Tesla, Wallbox, Ocular, Zappi and every major AC wall charger - properly wired from the switchboard with the right protection and load management.

### What's included
- Tesla Wall Connector installation (Gen 2 & Gen 3)
- Wallbox, Ocular, Zappi, Fronius supply and install
- 7kW single-phase and 22kW three-phase wiring
- Dedicated RCBO circuit direct from the switchboard
- Load balancing / dynamic management setup
- Solar-diverting EV chargers for max self-consumption

### Overview
A home EV charger is the difference between plugging in at night and never thinking about range, versus queuing at a public DC fast charger every week. We install every major AC wall charger — Tesla Wall Connector, Wallbox Pulsar, Ocular, Zappi, Fronius Wattpilot — properly wired from the switchboard on a dedicated RCBO with the right protection, not piggybacked off a general power circuit.
For most Sydney homes a 7kW single-phase install is the sweet spot: it adds around 40km of range per hour, works on standard 240V, and doesn't need a three-phase upgrade. If you have three-phase already, or you drive high daily kilometres, 22kW three-phase gets you a full charge in 3-4 hours. Where a home has solar we can install a diverting charger (Zappi, Fronius Wattpilot) that charges the car only from excess solar — turning free daytime PV into free km.
Every install includes an on-site assessment of your switchboard, the cable run, mounting location and phase capacity. We handle any switchboard upgrade needed, Ausgrid notification for high-demand connections, and load balancing so the charger throttles down instead of tripping the main. Certificate of Compliance is issued on completion — a legal requirement in NSW that DIY installs cannot provide.

### Fixed pricing
$900–$1,600 AUD installed · 24-month workmanship warranty · typical duration 4 hours

### How we handle it
1. **On-site assessment** — We measure the cable run, confirm phase availability and check the switchboard has room for a dedicated 32 A RCBO.
2. **Ausgrid notification** — For high-demand connections we lodge the paperwork so your local network operator is on record.
3. **Board prep** — If the board is full we upgrade it or install a sub-board so the EVSE gets its own protection.
4. **Cable run and mount** — We pull the dedicated cable, mount the charger, and seal all penetrations to weatherproof standard.
5. **Commission and load-balance** — Charger paired to Wi-Fi or app, load balancing configured against your main supply so it throttles instead of tripping.
6. **Test and certify** — Full AS/NZS 3000 test, Certificate of Compliance issued, and we walk you through scheduling and solar-only modes.

### Standards
- AS/NZS 3000:2018 Section 7.9 — Electric vehicle charging installations
- AS/NZS 61851 — Electric vehicle conductive charging system
- NSW SIR 2019 — high-demand connections

### FAQs
**Do I need a three-phase supply for an EV charger?**
No - single-phase 7kW is fine for most homes and adds ~40km of range per hour. Three-phase 22kW is faster but only makes sense if you drive high daily kms or have solar to divert.

**Can I install a charger myself if I bought one online?**
No. EV charger install is licensed electrical work in NSW - a Certificate of Compliance is required. DIY installs void insurance and warranty.

**Will it work with my solar?**
Yes - Zappi, Fronius Wattpilot and select others charge only from excess solar automatically. We spec and wire them to talk to your inverter.

**How long does installation take?**
Most single-phase installs are done in 3-5 hours. Complex runs, three-phase, or switchboard upgrades can extend to a full day.

**Which EV charger brand do you recommend?**
It depends on the car and the goal. Tesla Wall Connector is unbeatable for Teslas. Wallbox Pulsar Plus is a great all-rounder. Ocular is the budget pick. Zappi and Fronius Wattpilot are the two best solar-diverting chargers. We stock all of them and quote on merit, not commission.

**Do I need to upgrade my switchboard for an EV charger?**
Not always. If your board has a spare pole, sound tails and adequate main capacity, we just add a dedicated RCBO. If it's a ceramic-fuse board or full to the brim, an upgrade is usually needed — we quote both jobs together up front so there are no surprises.

## Ceiling Fans
URL: https://empireelectricalcontractors.com.au/services/ceiling-fans
Ceiling and exhaust fans supplied and installed

New ceiling fan going up? Replacing an old one? We handle everything - bracing, wiring, wall controllers and remotes - and leave it running silently the first time.

### What's included
- Ceiling fan supply and install (any brand)
- Replacement of old or noisy fans
- Adding fans to existing light points
- Wall controller and remote setup
- Bathroom exhaust fan and heat/light install
- Ducted exhaust to eaves for real moisture removal

### Overview
A properly installed ceiling fan makes a Sydney summer bearable without cranking the air-con. We install every major brand — Hunter Pacific, Beacon, Fanco, Big Ass Fans, Martec — with the correct bracing between the joists so there's no wobble, no droop and no dust cascade twelve months later. If you're replacing a noisy, dying fan we take the old one and its remote away and leave the new one balanced and silent from day one.
Adding a fan where there's currently only a light? That's a bracing and wiring job, not just a swap. We install a proper fan-rated bracket rated for the extra weight and torque, run a switch drop if you want a wall controller instead of a remote, and reconfigure the ceiling rose to carry both the fan and the light on separate switches.
Bathroom exhaust fans get the same care — we duct them properly to the eaves rather than blowing damp air into the roof cavity (a huge cause of mould in Sydney terraces). Combined fan/light/heat units are a specialty; we install the switching, isolate the heat lamps to their own RCBO, and vent the moisture where it belongs.

### Fixed pricing
$220–$480 AUD per fan installed · 24-month workmanship warranty · typical duration 1.5 hours

### How we handle it
1. **Inspect the mount** — We check the ceiling above the fan for a proper joist mount or a rated fan bracket.
2. **Isolate and remove** — Circuit off at the board, fan removed, ceiling penetration checked and reinforced.
3. **Install rated bracket** — We fit a fan-rated bracket direct to structure — never rely on plaster.
4. **Wire the new fan** — Terminated to the fan loop, controller matched to the motor type (DC needs a DC controller).
5. **Balance and test** — Fan balanced with the blade weights, controller paired, and every speed tested for hum and wobble.

### Standards
- AS/NZS 3000:2018 — general wiring rules
- AS/NZS 60335.2.80 — safety of ceiling fans

### FAQs
**Can I put a fan where a light currently is?**
Usually yes - but the mounting point must be braced for the extra weight and torque. We install a proper fan-rated bracket between joists as part of the install.

**Wall switch or remote?**
Both work. Wall controllers give speed + light dimming without hunting for a remote. RF remotes are great for retrofits where running a new switch wire is expensive.

**Do you install bathroom exhaust fans?**
Yes - including 3-in-1 fan/light/heat units, ducted properly to the eaves. NSW regs require exhausts to vent outside, not the roof cavity.

**How long does it take?**
60-90 minutes for a straight fan swap. 2-3 hours if we're adding a new circuit, wall switch, or bracing.

**What size fan do I need for my room?**
As a rule: rooms up to 12m² use a 48-52" fan, 12-20m² use a 54-56" fan, and larger rooms need 60"+ or two smaller fans. We measure and recommend on the quote.

**DC or AC motor — does it matter?**
DC fans use around 70% less power, run much quieter, offer more speeds and typically include a remote as standard. They cost a bit more up front and are worth it if the fan will run a lot.

## Smoke Alarms
URL: https://empireelectricalcontractors.com.au/services/smoke-alarms
Compliant hardwired and 10-year lithium smoke alarms

NSW law requires working smoke alarms on every level of every home. We supply and install hardwired 240V or 10-year lithium alarms - interconnected, compliant, and ready for inspection.

### What's included
- Hardwired 240V photoelectric alarms with battery backup
- 10-year sealed lithium alarm supply and install
- Interconnection of alarms across the whole home
- Rental property compliance certificates
- Replacement of expired alarms (10-year life)
- Heat alarms for kitchens and garages

### Overview
In NSW the law is simple: every home must have at least one working photoelectric smoke alarm on every storey, and homes built after 1997 must be hardwired. Rental properties need a compliance check before each new tenancy. We install both types — 240V hardwired photoelectric alarms with 10-year sealed lithium backup, or standalone 10-year lithium alarms where hardwiring isn't practical — and interconnect them so when one triggers, they all sound.
Interconnection is the single biggest life-safety upgrade you can make. A fire in the laundry at 3am won't wake someone sleeping at the far end of the house on the top floor — unless every alarm goes off at once. Modern alarms interconnect wirelessly (no wiring between them), so we can retrofit interconnection to any existing hardwired or lithium install in about an hour per alarm.
For landlords and property managers we issue a formal compliance certificate on the same visit, testing every alarm, replacing anything past its 10-year date stamp, and photographing each unit for your records. Heat alarms — the correct sensor for kitchens and garages where photoelectric alarms cause nuisance triggers — are installed where required.

### Fixed pricing
$150–$380 AUD per alarm installed · 60-month workmanship warranty · typical duration 2 hours

### How we handle it
1. **Site audit** — We check every bedroom, hallway and level for coverage, alarm age and interconnection status.
2. **Spec the upgrade** — We spec AS 3786-compliant photoelectric 10-year alarms, interconnected via mains or wireless mesh.
3. **Isolate and remove** — Old alarms removed, existing wiring inspected, and any 9 V bases decommissioned.
4. **Install and interconnect** — New alarms mounted per manufacturer spacing, terminated to the lighting circuit, and paired to the interconnect group.
5. **Test the whole chain** — Trigger one alarm and confirm every alarm on the property sounds within 10 seconds.

### Standards
- AS 3786:2014 — Smoke alarms using scattered light
- NSW Environmental Planning & Assessment Regulation 2021 — smoke alarm requirements

### FAQs
**What does NSW law require?**
One working smoke alarm on every storey - hardwired for homes built after 1997, either type for older homes, but photoelectric type only. Rentals require a compliance check before each new tenancy.

**Should alarms be interconnected?**
Highly recommended and required in some new builds. When one alarm triggers, all of them sound - critical for waking sleepers on the opposite end of the house.

**How often should alarms be replaced?**
Every 10 years, regardless of type. The sensor degrades - a 12-year-old alarm may look fine and still not trigger. Check the date on the back.

**Do you provide rental compliance certificates?**
Yes - we test, replace where needed, and issue a landlord compliance certificate on the same visit.

**Photoelectric or ionisation — which one?**
Photoelectric only. Ionisation alarms are no longer recommended in NSW — they respond too slowly to the smouldering fires that kill most people. Any alarm we install is photoelectric.

**Can I retrofit wireless interconnection to my existing alarms?**
Only if they're the same brand and support wireless interconnection. If not, replacing all alarms with a matched wirelessly-interconnected set is usually cheaper than trying to mix systems.

## Hot Water Systems
URL: https://empireelectricalcontractors.com.au/services/hot-water
Electric hot water repairs, replacements and installs

No hot water? Element blown? Off-peak clock playing up? We diagnose and fix electric hot water systems the same visit - or replace and reconnect if it's past its life.

### What's included
- Element and thermostat replacement
- Off-peak / controlled load repair and rewiring
- Full electric hot water tank replacement
- Heat pump hot water installation and wiring
- Isolator, safety switch and circuit upgrades
- Timer setup for solar self-consumption

### Overview
Cold shower in the morning? Nine times out of ten it's a blown element or a failed thermostat — both are same-visit fixes for a licensed electrician. We diagnose on the spot with proper test gear (not guesswork), quote the swap before we start, and typically have you back to hot water inside two hours. If the tank itself is leaking from the base, no amount of repair will save it and we quote a full replacement instead.
For older Sydney homes on off-peak (tariff 31 or controlled load) we handle the whole thing: repair or rewire the controlled-load circuit, fix a stuck contactor, replace a failed off-peak clock, or convert to continuous tariff with the Ausgrid notification handled for you. If you have solar we can install a timer so the tank heats during the middle of the day on your excess PV instead of drawing from the grid overnight.
Heat pump hot water is the biggest upgrade if your tank is on its last legs — around 70% less power than a conventional electric tank, and eligible for NSW rebates. We supply and install Sanden, Reclaim, Rheem Ambiheat and iStore, wire the dedicated circuit from the board, and coordinate with a licensed plumber where the pipework needs work.

### Fixed pricing
$180–$950 AUD electrical work only · 24-month workmanship warranty · typical duration 2 hours

### How we handle it
1. **Isolate and test** — We isolate the hot-water circuit at the board, meter the element and thermostat, and check the off-peak contactor.
2. **Diagnose the fault** — We identify whether the failure is electrical (contactor, breaker, wiring) or plumbing (element, tank, valve) and quote accordingly.
3. **Repair or replace** — For electrical faults we replace the failed component in-hour. For tank replacement we coordinate a licensed plumber for the changeover.
4. **Reconfigure tariff** — Where a new tank uses a different tariff we notify Ausgrid and reconfigure the meter timer.
5. **Test and certify** — Full electrical test, tariff verified with the retailer, and CCEW issued for any wiring changes.

### Standards
- AS/NZS 3500.4 — Plumbing and drainage: heated water services
- AS/NZS 3000:2018 — general wiring rules

### FAQs
**My hot water is out - element or thermostat?**
Usually one or the other. We test both on the spot. Element failures are more common on older tanks; thermostats fail more often after a power surge.

**How long do hot water tanks last?**
Typical electric tank lasts 8-12 years. If it's leaking from the base, replace it - it's not repairable. If it's a heating issue, we can often revive it for years more.

**Are you licensed for hot water work?**
For the electrical side, yes - element, thermostat, wiring and controlled load. Full tank swaps are done in partnership with a licensed plumber where required for pipework.

**Can I move from off-peak to continuous?**
Yes - it needs a switchboard change and Ausgrid notification. We handle both.

**Is a heat pump hot water system worth it?**
For most Sydney homes, yes. Heat pumps use around 30% of the electricity of a conventional electric tank, and NSW rebates cover a large chunk of the up-front cost. If your existing tank is near end-of-life, the running-cost payback is usually 3-5 years.

**How much does it cost to replace a full hot water tank?**
A like-for-like electric tank replacement is typically $1,950-$2,800 supply and install. Heat pumps land between $3,500 and $5,500 after rebates. We quote a fixed price before starting.

## Data & TV Points
URL: https://empireelectricalcontractors.com.au/services/data-tv
CAT6 data, TV points and antenna installation

Working from home? Streaming everywhere? Get proper hardwired CAT6, extra TV points and a strong digital antenna signal - installed neatly by a licensed cabler.

### What's included
- CAT6 data cabling to any room
- Additional TV points and RF distribution
- Digital antenna install and tuning
- Home network cabinet setup
- Wall-mounted TV with cables concealed in-wall
- Coax replacement for old, weak TV signal

### Overview
Hardwired CAT6 beats Wi-Fi every time for streaming, gaming and serious work-from-home — lower latency, higher throughput, no dropouts when the microwave runs. We're registered ACMA cablers (a legal requirement for any data or comms work in Australia) and pull neat CAT6 to any room in the house, terminate to wall plates and patch panels, and can set up a small home network cabinet if you want a proper distribution point.
TV distribution is the other half of the job. Most patchy-signal complaints in Sydney aren't the antenna — they're old lossy coax, cheap splitters, or a corroded connection on the roof. We test signal at every point, replace RG-6 quad-shield coax where needed, and can add extra TV points off a proper distribution amp so every screen gets a strong picture.
Wall-mounting a TV? We drop power and HDMI inside the wall to a recessed outlet behind the screen — the cleanest install possible, no visible cables. We stock the wall brackets, mounts and conduit and finish the job in a single visit.

### Fixed pricing
$180–$550 AUD per data/TV point · 24-month workmanship warranty · typical duration 3 hours

### How we handle it
1. **Signal walk-through** — We measure Wi-Fi signal in each room and check TV signal levels at the antenna and wall points.
2. **Plan the runs** — We plan Cat6 or RG6 quad-shield runs through the ceiling and walls — least invasive, best aesthetic.
3. **Install cabling** — Cables pulled, wall plates chased in, mounts fitted for TVs or access points.
4. **Terminate and test** — Every RJ45 tested to 1 Gbps, every coax point tested for signal strength and MER.
5. **Configure and hand over** — Access points paired, TV points tuned, and we leave a labelled patch panel or plan for future changes.

### Standards
- AS/CA S009 — Installation requirements for customer cabling
- ACMA Cabling Provider Rules

### FAQs
**Do I need CAT6 or is Wi-Fi enough?**
For streaming, gaming or serious work-from-home, hardwired CAT6 is faster, more reliable and lower latency. Wi-Fi 6 mesh is great as a backbone but a hard-wired point beats it every time.

**Can you conceal the TV cables in the wall?**
Yes - power and HDMI dropped inside the wall to a bottom outlet. It's the cleanest look and is done on most of our wall-mount installs.

**My TV signal is patchy - antenna or cable?**
9 times out of 10 it's the old coax or a splitter, not the antenna. We test the signal at every point and quote a fix.

**Are you a registered cabler?**
Yes - registered ACMA cabler as required by Australian law for any data or comms work.

**Can you install PoE security cameras and network cabling in one visit?**
Yes — we regularly cable cameras, access points and NVR back to a central cabinet or NBN box on the same visit. All CAT6 with proper terminations.

**Do you install NBN outlets and internal cabling?**
Yes — we can move an NBN box, extend the NBN internal outlet to a better location, or add data points fed off the router.

## Commercial Fit-outs
URL: https://empireelectricalcontractors.com.au/services/commercial-fitouts
Shop, office and cafe electrical fit-outs

Fitting out a new shop, cafe or office? We handle the electrical scope end to end - power, lighting, data, exit signs and testing - to your program and your builder's schedule.

### What's included
- Full retail, hospitality and office fit-outs
- Three-phase power for kitchens and workshops
- Emergency & exit lighting compliance
- Data and comms cabling to workstations
- Testing, tagging and CoC on completion
- After-hours and staged works to keep you trading

### Overview
Commercial electrical fit-outs are a different game to residential — the program is tighter, the sign-offs are more formal and the tenancy conditions dictate what you can and can't do inside the shell. We work as the electrical trade inside builder-led fit-outs and directly for tenants: sub-mains from the tenancy DB, general power to every workstation and kitchen bench, three-phase for commercial ovens, cool rooms and workshops, dedicated LED lighting circuits, exit and emergency lighting to AS 2293, data and comms cabling to workstations, and full testing and tagging on handover.
For hospitality and retail we plan works around trading hours — after-hours and weekend shifts to keep you open — and stage the electrical works so the builder can keep moving. For office fit-outs we coordinate with the base-building electrician, deliver the tenancy DB, sub-mains, general lighting and power, and hand over a fully tested and tagged tenancy with the electrical safety report the landlord's insurance requires.
Every commercial project ends with the same package: full test results, exit and emergency lighting log, test-and-tag register, Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work, and as-installed drawings if we designed the layout. $20M public liability and full workers cover — certificates on request for any site induction.

### Fixed pricing
$6,000–$60,000 AUD per fit-out · 24-month workmanship warranty · typical duration 40 hours

### How we handle it
1. **Design coordination** — We work with the fitout designer, mechanical trades and IT to lock in lighting, GPO, data and emergency lighting positions.
2. **Sub-board and rough-in** — We install the tenancy sub-board, rough-in wall and ceiling cabling, and coordinate outages with the building manager.
3. **Fit-off and commissioning** — Fittings installed, GPOs terminated, emergency lighting tested and logged, comms cables patched.

## Electrical Fault Finding
URL: https://empireelectricalcontractors.com.au/services/fault-finding
Diagnose tripping, dead circuits and mystery faults — fast

Safety switch keeps tripping? Half the house has no power? We diagnose the root cause with proper test gear — not guesswork — and quote the repair before we touch anything.

### What's included
- Safety switch (RCD) nuisance tripping diagnosis
- Dead circuit and dead outlet fault tracing
- Intermittent and weather-related fault chasing
- Insulation resistance and earth loop testing
- Buried cable and wall cable location
- Written fault report with photos and repair quote

### Overview
Electrical faults rarely announce themselves. A safety switch that trips every time it rains, an oven that works until the kettle boils, a bedroom that lost half its outlets after a storm — every one of these is a specific fault waiting to be isolated. We chase them systematically using a megger, clamp meter, earth loop tester and thermal camera, not by swapping parts until something works.
Most Sydney fault-finding calls fall into a handful of patterns: moisture ingress into an outdoor outlet or bathroom fan; a failing appliance (usually a hot water element, dishwasher or oven) putting an earth leak on the circuit; a damaged cable behind plaster after a picture hook or shelf install; or a corroded neutral in an old junction box in the roof. We walk the circuit, isolate the fault to a specific section, then quote the fix in writing before continuing.
You leave the visit knowing exactly what was wrong, why it happened, and what it takes to stop it recurring — with photos, meter readings and a compliance certificate for any repair work done.

### Fixed pricing
$220–$850 AUD per fault · 12-month workmanship warranty · typical duration 1.5 hours

### How we handle it
1. **Isolate the fault** — We split the affected circuit and reset breakers one by one to narrow the fault to a single run.
2. **Insulation resistance test** — Megger the suspect circuit to confirm whether the fault is line-to-earth, line-to-neutral, or intermittent.
3. **Trace and repair** — Thermal camera and cable tracer locate the fault, we replace the damaged section and re-test.
4. **Certify** — Full test to AS/NZS 3000 and a CCEW covering the repair.

### Standards
- AS/NZS 3000:2018 Section 8 — Verification
- AS/NZS 3017 — Verification testing

### FAQs
**Why does my safety switch keep tripping?**
Almost always moisture ingress, a failing appliance (hot water, oven, dishwasher) or a damaged cable. We meter every circuit to find the leaking one, then isolate it to a section — usually inside 60-90 minutes.

**How much does electrical fault finding cost?**
Standard diagnostic callout is $99, waived if you proceed with the repair. Most single-circuit faults are isolated and quoted inside 60-90 minutes. Complex multi-circuit or buried cable faults are quoted hourly once we've scoped the work.

**Can you find a fault without ripping walls apart?**
In the vast majority of cases yes. Between insulation resistance testing, cable tracing tools and a thermal camera we can isolate a fault to a specific outlet, junction or short cable section without opening walls unnecessarily.

**Do you attend after hours for urgent faults?**
Yes — 24/7 emergency callouts across Sydney. If you have sparks, exposed wiring or burning smells, turn power off at the main and call us immediately.

**Will you fix the fault the same visit?**
Most faults are repaired the same visit if the parts are on the van (RCBOs, outlets, cable, common appliance parts). Complex repairs (buried cable replacement, board rewire) are scheduled after the quote is approved.

**Do you provide a written fault report?**
Yes — photos of the fault, meter readings, root-cause explanation and a written repair quote. Useful for insurance claims and landlord records.

**Can a DIY-installed appliance cause a nuisance trip?**
Very common. DIY-installed dishwashers, hot water elements, downlights and outdoor lights are a top cause of RCD tripping. We often find the fault on the appliance rather than the wiring — cheaper to know than to guess.

## Level 2 Electrical Services
URL: https://empireelectricalcontractors.com.au/services/level-2-electrical
Accredited Level 2 ASP — service lines, meter work and mains upgrades

New service connection, meter upgrade or mains repair? Level 2 work must be done by an ASP-accredited electrician — that's us. We handle Ausgrid liaison, service lines and metering end to end.

### What's included
- Overhead and underground service connections
- Point of Attachment (POA) repairs and replacements
- Consumer mains upgrades (single and three-phase)
- Meter installation, relocation and NMI additions
- Private power pole install and replacement
- Ausgrid disconnection and reconnection

### Overview
Level 2 electrical work is anything that connects to, or affects, the network side of your meter — service lines from the pole or pit, the point of attachment on the house, the consumer mains between meter and switchboard, and the metering itself. It legally must be performed by an Accredited Service Provider (Level 2 ASP) authorised by Ausgrid. Empire Electrical Contractors is an ASP-accredited business, so we can quote, disconnect, work live where required, install new metering and reconnect — all without waiting on a separate contractor.
The most common Sydney Level 2 jobs are a mains upgrade (typically from 63A to 100A to support ducted air-con, EV charging or a granny flat), a service line replacement after a storm rip-off, a meter box relocation for a renovation or driveway change, and a new service connection for a knock-down-rebuild or secondary dwelling. Every job includes the Ausgrid notification, the Contestable/Non-Contestable paperwork, and coordination of any street pit or pole access needed.
Because Level 2 works usually involve a planned outage, we book the outage window to suit you (early morning is standard), attend as an entire crew, and complete disconnection, replacement and reconnection in one visit wherever the scope allows.

### Fixed pricing
$850–$4,500 AUD per job · 60-month workmanship warranty · typical duration 4 hours

### How we handle it
1. **Scope with Ausgrid** — We lodge the Service Order and confirm the work category with the network operator.
2. **Isolate at the pole** — Our ASP disconnects the service safely and installs temporary make-safe if required.
3. **Install and test** — New consumer mains, point of attachment or metering equipment installed to network standards.
4. **Notify and re-energise** — Paperwork lodged, network reconnects and we hand over the CCEW.

### Standards
- NSW Service and Installation Rules 2019
- AS/NZS 3000:2018 — Wiring rules

### FAQs
**What is a Level 2 electrician?**
A Level 2 electrician (ASP — Accredited Service Provider) is authorised by the network operator (Ausgrid in most of Sydney) to work on the service line, point of attachment, consumer mains and metering. Regular electricians cannot legally do this work.

**Do you handle the Ausgrid paperwork?**
Yes — the Level 2 notification, contestable/non-contestable forms, metering coordinator submission and Notification of Service Works are all lodged by us. You don't deal with Ausgrid.

**How long is my power off for a mains upgrade?**
Typical single-phase mains upgrade is 4-6 hours of outage on the day. Three-phase upgrades or full meter relocations can be a full day. We book the outage window to suit you.

**How much does a mains upgrade cost?**
Most residential 63A→100A single-phase upgrades land between $2,800 and $5,500 depending on cable run, meter box condition and metering coordinator fees. Three-phase upgrades are quoted per site.

**Storm ripped the service line off my house — is that urgent?**
Yes. A live service line down or a damaged point of attachment is a make-safe emergency — call us 24/7. We isolate the network, secure the site, and quote the permanent Level 2 repair.

**Do I need to upgrade my mains for an EV charger?**
Sometimes. A single 7kW EV charger usually fits within existing 63A mains if the rest of the load isn't heavy. A 22kW three-phase charger, a second EV or a heat pump on top usually needs a mains upgrade. We assess as part of the EV charger quote.

**Can you install a new meter for a granny flat?**
Yes — additional NMI installation, separate metering for secondary dwellings and sub-metering setups are core Level 2 work.

## High Voltage & Substation Works
URL: https://empireelectricalcontractors.com.au/services/high-voltage-substation
HV switchgear, transformer and substation electrical works

Commercial and industrial sites with HV switchgear, chamber or kiosk substations need specialist electrical contractors. We deliver the LV scope alongside HV partners on new works, upgrades and defect rectification.

### What's included
- LV scope for new kiosk and chamber substations
- HV switchgear installation coordination
- Transformer connection and LV distribution
- Substation earthing and equipotential bonding
- HV/LV cable installation and termination
- Defect rectification for insurer or network audits

### Overview
High voltage and substation electrical work sits at the top of the commercial electrical scope — new kiosk substations for large developments, chamber substation refurbishments for strata and industrial sites, transformer replacements, and LV distribution downstream of the transformer. Empire Electrical Contractors delivers the LV scope end to end and coordinates with accredited HV partners for the switching, testing and commissioning that requires HV tickets.
Typical projects include a new commercial fit-out where the tenancy needs a dedicated transformer and metering; a strata scheme with an aging chamber substation that has been served an insurer or Ausgrid defect notice; and a light-industrial site upgrading from a padmount transformer to a kiosk arrangement to free up land. We handle the LV switchgear, cable ladders and trays, main switchboards, distribution boards, earthing and bonding, and the compliance documentation the network operator requires for energisation.
Every HV/substation project is delivered against a written program with defined hold points for HV switching, insulation testing, protection testing and network sign-off. $20M public liability and full workers cover — insurance certificates and induction paperwork provided for every site.

### Fixed pricing
$25,000–$250,000 AUD per project · 24-month workmanship warranty · typical duration 80 hours

### How we handle it
1. **Assess** — HV licensed engineer inspects the substation and reviews SLDs and maintenance history.
2. **Coordinate outage** — Outage window planned with Ausgrid and the customer, temporary generation arranged if needed.
3. **Install and commission** — Switchgear or transformer installed, protection settings tested and commissioned.
4. **Certify** — HV compliance documentation, thermographic scan and 5-year maintenance plan issued.

### Standards
- AS 2067 — Substations and HV installations
- ENA NENS 04 — Isolation procedures

### FAQs
**Do you hold HV tickets in-house?**
We deliver the LV scope directly and coordinate HV switching, testing and commissioning with accredited HV partners. That model keeps your job on one contract without compromising on HV-ticketed personnel where legally required.

**Can you attend an Ausgrid defect notice on our substation?**
Yes — we inspect the notice, quote the remediation, coordinate the HV outage and rectify. Common defects are earthing bonds, LV cable terminations and door/lock compliance.

**How is a substation project priced?**
Every HV/substation job is quoted against a specific scope, program and network requirement. We provide a detailed written quote within about 5 business days of a site walk-through.

**Do you handle metering for new tenancies downstream of the transformer?**
Yes — LV metering, sub-metering and NMI coordination are standard scope on any new tenancy or capacity upgrade.

**What insurance do you carry for HV work?**
$20M public liability, full workers compensation and professional indemnity where the scope includes design coordination. Certificates issued for every site induction.

**Can you support a planned HV outage overnight or on a weekend?**
Yes — critical-facility HV works are routinely scheduled overnight or on weekends to protect trading and tenancy uptime.

## CCTV & Security Systems
URL: https://empireelectricalcontractors.com.au/services/cctv-security
IP CCTV design, installation and configuration

See what's happening around your home or business from your phone. We design, install and configure IP CCTV — 4K cameras, PoE NVR, remote viewing, real night vision — with neat cabling and no rooftop mess.

### What's included
- 4K IP CCTV camera design and install (Hikvision, Dahua, Uniview)
- PoE network video recorder (NVR) setup with app viewing
- True IR night vision and low-light colour cameras
- Doorbell and intercom camera integration
- Existing analogue upgrade to IP
- On-site playback, cloud backup and mobile access

### Overview
A properly designed CCTV system is a burglary deterrent, an evidence tool, and a way to check on the property from anywhere. We design and install IP CCTV — 4K cameras over PoE cabling to a hard-wired NVR — not battery Wi-Fi cameras that drop out when you need them most. Every install includes on-site local recording (30-60 days), mobile app viewing, and optional cloud backup for critical footage.
Camera choice matters more than resolution. We spec turret or dome cameras for the front and back of the property, a wide-angle bullet for the driveway, and a low-light colour camera for the darkest approach — with true IR (not just "night mode" that greys out at 5m). Doorbells, intercoms and access-control cameras integrate with the same NVR so you have one app for everything.
As registered ACMA cablers we run the CAT6 neatly through the roof space and down internal walls, with the NVR in a cupboard, garage or comms cabinet — no exposed cable, no daisy-chained power supplies, no ugly rooftop conduit. Full walk-through on the app included on hand-over.

### Fixed pricing
$1,200–$6,500 AUD per system · 24-month workmanship warranty · typical duration 6 hours

### How we handle it
1. **Site walk** — We map coverage, identify blind spots and confirm cable paths.
2. **Design** — Camera count, resolution, storage retention and remote-viewing spec confirmed in writing.
3. **Install** — Cat6 pulled to each camera position, NVR installed, cameras aimed and focused.
4. **Handover** — Mobile app configured, retention verified, one-page cheat sheet supplied.

### Standards
- AS/NZS 3000:2018 — extra-low voltage wiring
- NSW Surveillance Devices Act 2007

### FAQs
**How many cameras do I need?**
Most homes are well covered by 4-6 cameras: front door, driveway, side access, backyard, and (optionally) an internal downstairs zone. Larger properties or businesses usually run 8-16.

**How much does a CCTV install cost in Sydney?**
A neatly installed 4-camera 4K IP system with NVR and app viewing starts around $2,200. 8-camera systems from $3,400. Commercial systems with access control or ANPR are quoted per site.

**Can I view the cameras on my phone?**
Yes — every install includes mobile app setup on your phone, with push notifications on motion, live viewing and playback from anywhere.

**How long does the footage stay?**
Standard configuration keeps 30-60 days of continuous recording locally on the NVR hard drive. Optional cloud backup preserves motion clips longer for critical events.

**IP or analogue — what should I install?**
IP over PoE, every time. It's higher resolution, uses one cable per camera, is easier to expand, and integrates with doorbells and access control. Analogue is legacy tech we only recommend when reusing existing coax on a budget.

**Can you upgrade my existing analogue system?**
Yes — either full replacement to IP/PoE, or a hybrid recorder that keeps your existing coax for some cameras while adding IP cameras where you need higher resolution.

**Are you a registered cabler?**
Yes — registered ACMA cabler, which is legally required in Australia for any CCTV/data cabling work.

## Security Alarms
URL: https://empireelectricalcontractors.com.au/services/security-alarms
Back-to-base and self-monitored security alarm systems

Modern alarm systems arm from your phone, notify you on any trigger, and integrate with CCTV and smart locks. We install, upgrade and take over existing systems across Sydney.

### What's included
- New alarm system supply and install (Bosch, Paradox, DSC)
- Wireless PIR, reed and glass-break sensors
- Back-to-base monitoring or self-monitored app alerts
- Takeover and reprogramming of existing systems
- Panic button and duress code setup
- Integration with CCTV and smart locks

### Overview
A security alarm is only useful if it actually gets used — which means it needs to be easy to arm from your phone, hard to trigger by accident, and reliable enough that you don't ignore it. We install modern alarm systems from Bosch, Paradox and DSC with app control, wireless sensors that don't chew batteries, and either back-to-base monitoring or self-monitored push alerts to your phone.
Most homes need a keypad at the front door, a PIR in every downstairs zone, reed switches on the main entry doors, and a siren where it will actually be heard. For higher-risk properties we add glass-break sensors on ground-floor windows, panic buttons in the master bedroom, and CCTV integration so a triggered zone auto-records the footage. Duress codes and separate user codes for cleaners, tradies and kids keep the audit trail clean.
Inherited an old alarm from the previous owner? We take it over — reprogram every code, replace failed sensors, get the app working and reconnect (or cancel) the monitoring. If the panel is legacy DSC PowerSeries or Ness we can usually salvage it; if it's dead, we recommend a like-for-like replacement rather than a full rewire.

### Fixed pricing
$900–$4,500 AUD per system · 24-month workmanship warranty · typical duration 4 hours

### How we handle it
1. **Inspect** — Confirm existing sensor layout, panel model and cabling condition.
2. **Design** — New panel choice, sensor coverage plan and monitoring option quoted upfront.
3. **Install** — Panel swap, dual-tech pet-friendly sensors, keypad and siren installed.
4. **Program and handover** — Zones programmed, users trained, monitoring station tested.

### Standards
- AS/NZS 2201.1 — Intruder alarm systems

### FAQs
**Back-to-base or self-monitored?**
Self-monitored (push alerts to your phone) is fine for most homes and has no ongoing fee. Back-to-base — a monitored control room dispatching a guard or police — is worth it for businesses, high-value properties or people who travel a lot.

**How much does a home alarm system cost?**
A new system with keypad, 4 sensors, siren and app control lands around $1,600-$2,400 installed. Larger homes with 8+ sensors, glass-breaks or CCTV integration run $2,800-$4,500.

**Can you take over my existing alarm?**
Yes — takeover, code reset, sensor replacement, app setup and (if you want) monitoring reconnection. Takeovers start from $220 if the panel is healthy.

**Do the wireless sensors need batteries?**
Yes — modern wireless PIRs run 5-8 years on a single battery and the panel tells you when one is getting low. Reed switches on doors last similar. Hard-wired sensors need no battery.

**Can the alarm trigger my CCTV?**
Yes — the alarm panel can trigger event recording on the CCTV NVR, so any alarm activation auto-captures the footage from the relevant cameras.

**Will it work if the power or NBN is out?**
Yes — panels have a 24-hour battery backup, and monitored systems typically include a 4G module so the signal path survives NBN outages.

## Air Conditioning
URL: https://empireelectricalcontractors.com.au/services/air-conditioning
Split system and ducted air-con install, repair and service

New split system, ducted upgrade, or an old unit that's stopped cooling? We handle the electrical, mounting and refrigerant work end to end — with licensed refrigerant handlers on the crew.

### What's included
- Split system supply and install (2.5-9kW)
- Ducted air-con install and zone controller setup
- Existing split system service and gas top-up
- Dedicated circuit and isolator install from the switchboard
- Ducted zone motor and controller repairs
- Removal and disposal of old units

### Overview
Sydney summers demand air-conditioning that actually works — and most cooling problems are electrical or refrigerant, not the unit itself. We supply and install split systems from Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Fujitsu, Panasonic and Haier, from a 2.5kW bedroom unit through to 9kW living-room systems, with the dedicated circuit, isolator, condensate drainage and pipework all in a single visit.
For ducted air-con we handle the electrical scope — dedicated three-phase circuit where required, isolator, zone controller wiring, dedicated smoke detector isolation for the return-air path — and coordinate with a licensed refrigeration partner on the ductwork and outdoor unit lift. Existing ducted systems with dead zone motors, failed controllers or a compressor that won't start are diagnosed and repaired the same visit where the parts are on the van.
All refrigerant work is performed by ARC-licensed technicians — a legal requirement in Australia. Every install includes a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work and a written warranty on our labour.

### Fixed pricing
$350–$1,200 AUD per unit · 24-month workmanship warranty · typical duration 3 hours

### How we handle it
1. **Assess load** — Confirm indoor/outdoor unit ratings and existing switchboard capacity.
2. **Run circuit** — Dedicated circuit, RCBO and correctly rated cable pulled to the outdoor unit location.
3. **Install isolator** — Weatherproof isolator installed within reach of the outdoor unit per AS/NZS 3000.
4. **Certify** — Circuit tested and CCEW issued.

### Standards
- AS/NZS 3000:2018 Clause 4.4 — Isolation and switching
- AS/NZS 3008 — Cable selection

### FAQs
**What size split system do I need?**
As a rough guide: 2.5kW for a bedroom up to 20m², 3.5kW for a large bedroom, 5kW for an open living area up to 40m², 7-9kW for large open-plan or top-floor living rooms. We measure and confirm on site.

**How much does a split system installation cost?**
A quality back-to-back install (indoor unit directly through the wall to an outdoor unit) starts around $1,650. Longer pipe runs, second-storey installs, cranes for high-rise or ducted systems are quoted per site.

**Do I need a dedicated circuit for a split system?**
Yes — anything over 2.5kW should be on its own dedicated circuit with an isolator within sight of the outdoor unit. It's part of every install we do.

**Are you licensed for refrigerant work?**
Yes — refrigerant handling is done by ARC-licensed technicians on our crew or by a licensed refrigeration partner on ducted jobs. Anyone touching refrigerant in Australia legally must be licensed.

**My ducted system has one dead zone — is it worth fixing?**
Usually yes. A failed zone motor is a $350-$650 repair. A dead zone controller is $500-$1,100. A dying compressor is when we start recommending replacement rather than repair.

**Can you connect air-con to my solar?**
Yes — we install smart controllers and can wire the outdoor unit to run on solar surplus during the day. Combined with a battery it can run for free through most of a summer day.

**Do you remove and dispose of old units?**
Yes — old units are removed, refrigerant recovered under ARC rules, and the unit disposed of at a licensed recycler. Included in every replacement job.

## Solar & Battery Systems
URL: https://empireelectricalcontractors.com.au/services/solar-battery
Grid-connect solar, batteries and EV-ready system design

Design and install of grid-connect solar and battery systems in Sydney — quality panels, hybrid inverters and Tesla Powerwall / Sungrow / Alpha ESS batteries. CEC-accredited, quoted honestly.

### What's included
- 6.6kW to 13kW residential solar design and install
- Battery storage — Tesla Powerwall 3, Sungrow, Alpha ESS
- Hybrid inverter upgrades on existing solar
- EV-charger-ready system design
- Consumption monitoring and app dashboards
- STC rebate and NSW battery rebate handled for you

### Overview
Solar in Sydney only pays if it's sized properly for your daytime consumption and installed with quality gear that lasts 15+ years. We design systems around your actual usage (bill and interval data pulled from your retailer), not a generic "6.6kW fits all" default — most Sydney households benefit from 8-10kW of panels feeding a hybrid inverter that's battery-ready even if you don't add the battery on day one.
For battery storage we install Tesla Powerwall 3, Sungrow SBH, and Alpha ESS SMILE — sized to your evening load, not oversold. A well-sized battery covers the evening peak and overnight base load, cuts grid import by 70-90%, and keeps essential circuits alive during a blackout. The NSW battery rebate (from 2024) is available to eligible households and we handle the paperwork.
Every install is designed and signed off by a CEC-accredited designer/installer — the legal requirement to unlock STC rebates. We handle Ausgrid grid-connection approval, the switchboard changes required for solar/battery integration, EV-charger-ready wiring and CT clamps for consumption monitoring, and the compliance package your retailer needs for feed-in tariff.

### Fixed pricing
$8,000–$22,000 AUD per battery · 60-month workmanship warranty · typical duration 8 hours

### How we handle it
1. **Assess** — Review PV size, usage patterns and switchboard layout to size battery correctly.
2. **Design** — Battery, backup gateway and essential loads panel documented and quoted.
3. **Install** — Battery mounted, gateway integrated, essential loads sub-board wired.
4. **Commission** — System commissioned, app configured, monitoring tested and handover pack supplied.

### Standards
- AS/NZS 5139 — Battery system installation
- AS/NZS 4777.1 — Grid connection

### FAQs
**How big a system do I need?**
Most Sydney households sit best on an 8-10kW panel array. Enough to cover daytime consumption, charge an EV or battery, and generate a healthy feed-in on sunny days. Bigger isn't always better — over-sizing beyond your export limit wastes money.

**Is a battery worth it?**
For most households on a Sydney time-of-use tariff, yes — a properly-sized battery cuts grid import by 70-90% and pays back in 6-9 years with the NSW rebate. If you already have solar and pay high evening tariffs, the payback is shorter.

**Do you handle rebates and paperwork?**
Yes — STC rebate, NSW battery rebate (where eligible), Ausgrid grid-connection approval and retailer feed-in tariff notification are all handled by us.

**How much does a solar and battery system cost?**
A quality 6.6kW system starts around $5,500 after STC rebate. 10kW solar + 10kWh battery lands around $18,000 after STC and NSW battery rebates. Written fixed quotes provided after a proper site assessment.

**Are you CEC-accredited?**
Yes — CEC-accredited design and install (legally required to claim the STC rebate). All electrical work certified with a Certificate of Compliance.

**Can the battery keep the house running in a blackout?**
Yes — Tesla Powerwall 3 and Sungrow SBH both support whole-home or essential-circuit backup. We wire it as part of the install so lights, fridge and Wi-Fi stay live through outages.

**Will you match a cheap door-knocker quote?**
No — we'll show you exactly what you'd be getting for that price (usually tier-3 panels, an unsupported inverter and no consumption monitoring) and quote a properly-designed system that will still be running in year 15. Cheapest and best rarely overlap in solar.

## Optical Fibre Splicing & Testing
URL: https://empireelectricalcontractors.com.au/services/optical-fibre
Fusion splicing, OTDR testing and OS2/OM4 fibre install

Fibre backbone, splicing, OTDR testing and MPO/LC termination for commercial and industrial sites. Registered ACMA cablers with fibre endorsement.

### What's included
- OS2 single-mode and OM3/OM4 multi-mode installs
- Fusion splicing to enclosures, patch panels and cabinets
- OTDR and light-source/power-meter test reports
- MPO/MTP, LC, SC and ST termination
- Existing fibre link fault finding
- As-installed drawings and certified test results

### Overview
Fibre optic cabling is the backbone of every serious commercial network — data centre uplinks, building risers, campus backbones, industrial control networks — and it only works if it's spliced, terminated and tested properly. We hold ACMA cabler registration with fibre endorsement, own the fusion splicer, OTDR and light-source/power-meter, and deliver certified test reports on every job.
Typical Sydney projects include running OS2 single-mode risers up an office building for a tenancy fit-out, splicing MPO ribbon fibre in a data cabinet for a new switch stack, terminating LC patch panels for a comms room refresh, and diagnosing intermittent packet loss on an existing fibre link with an OTDR trace. Every link gets a bi-directional test report we hand over as part of the commissioning package.
For industrial and roadside sites we also handle fibre fault repair — locating the break with an OTDR, exposing the buried duct, re-splicing and re-testing the link, and documenting the repair for the asset owner.

### Fixed pricing
$1,200–$25,000 AUD per project · 24-month workmanship warranty · typical duration 8 hours

### How we handle it
1. **Design** — Route survey, fibre type and termination method confirmed.
2. **Pull and terminate** — OS2 or OM4 fibre pulled through risers and terminated to LC/SC patch panels.
3. **Splice and test** — Fusion splice where required, OTDR test each strand and produce test report.
4. **Handover** — Patching schedule, cable ID labels and OTDR trace report supplied.

### Standards
- AS/CA S008 — Customer cabling
- ISO/IEC 11801 — Generic cabling

### FAQs
**Do you provide certified OTDR test reports?**
Yes — every link is bi-directionally OTDR-tested and light-source/power-meter tested, and a PDF certified test report is issued as part of the hand-over.

**OS2 single-mode or OM4 multi-mode — which should we use?**
OS2 is the default for anything over ~300m, building risers, campus backbones and future-proofing. OM4 makes sense for short data-cabinet runs using existing multi-mode SFPs. We'll spec against your active kit and design.

**Can you splice MPO ribbon fibre?**
Yes — ribbon fusion splicing to MPO/MTP cassettes and enclosures is core scope, especially for data-cabinet builds and 40/100G uplink stacks.

**How is a fibre install priced?**
Priced per link, per splice and per termination — the OTDR test and certified report are included, never a line-item add-on.

## Wireless Access Points
URL: https://empireelectricalcontractors.com.au/services/wireless-access-points
Enterprise Wi-Fi design, install and configuration

One consumer router won't cover a whole house or office. We design, cable and configure enterprise-grade Wi-Fi with hard-wired PoE access points, seamless roaming, and per-SSID VLANs.

### What's included
- Ubiquiti UniFi, Aruba Instant On and Ruckus AP design
- CAT6 PoE cabling to every access point
- Wi-Fi 6 / 6E multi-AP mesh with seamless roaming
- Guest, IoT and staff SSID separation with VLANs
- Site survey and coverage validation
- Cloud dashboard setup and hand-over

### Overview
Whole-home and office Wi-Fi needs proper design — you can't fix a bad wireless plan by buying a bigger router. We design multi-AP systems using Ubiquiti UniFi, Aruba Instant On or Ruckus, cable each access point over PoE CAT6 back to a central switch, and configure the network with proper SSID separation, VLANs and seamless roaming.
For a two-storey Sydney home that's typically 2-3 ceiling-mounted PoE access points, giving 100% coverage inside and a strong signal outside on the deck and around the pool. For offices we scale it up with per-desk coverage, a dedicated guest SSID with rate limiting, and an IoT SSID that keeps printers, cameras and smart devices off the corporate LAN.
As registered ACMA cablers we handle the CAT6 install neatly through the ceiling and internal walls, provide the PoE switch and controller in a comms cabinet, and hand you the cloud dashboard log-in so you can monitor and manage the network yourself — or leave it with us for ongoing support.

### Fixed pricing
$900–$8,500 AUD per site · 24-month workmanship warranty · typical duration 5 hours

### How we handle it
1. **Site survey** — Wi-Fi heatmap identifies dead zones and optimal AP placement.
2. **Cable and mount** — Cat6A pulled to each AP location, PoE switch installed in comms rack.
3. **Configure** — SSIDs, VLANs and roaming policies configured on the controller.
4. **Verify** — Post-install heatmap confirms coverage and hand off documentation.

### Standards
- AS/CA S008 — Customer cabling

### FAQs
**How many access points do I need?**
As a guide: a single-storey 3-bedroom home is usually one central AP; a two-storey Sydney home is 2-3; small offices are one AP per 80-120m² depending on wall material. We do a walk-through and confirm on the quote.

**Ubiquiti UniFi or Aruba?**
Both are excellent. UniFi has the better cloud dashboard and is our default for homes and small offices. Aruba Instant On is a solid pick for offices already on Aruba switching. Ruckus is the pick for very dense environments (schools, event spaces).

**Do the access points need cabling — can't they be wireless?**
Wireless mesh is a fallback, not a plan. Every serious install cables each AP over PoE CAT6 — the wireless mesh drops throughput in half every hop.

**Can you set up a guest network?**
Yes — separate SSID with a captive portal, rate limiting and no access to your internal LAN. Standard on every install.

**How much per access point installed?**
From around $650 per AP including a quality PoE unit, CAT6 back to the switch, mounting and configuration. Volume discounts apply on 4+ APs.

**Do you support the network after install?**
Yes — you get the cloud dashboard log-in and can self-manage, or we offer ongoing remote support for a small monthly fee. Either way, you own the gear outright.

## Appliance Repairs
URL: https://empireelectricalcontractors.com.au/services/appliance-repairs
Ovens, cooktops, dishwashers, washing machines and more

Oven not heating? Cooktop element dead? Dishwasher tripping the safety switch? We diagnose and repair the electrical side of household appliances the same visit.

### What's included
- Oven element, thermostat and control repairs
- Cooktop element, hob switch and induction fault diagnosis
- Dishwasher electrical fault and RCD-trip diagnosis
- Washing machine and dryer motor / control repairs
- Refrigerator and freezer thermostat and compressor start faults
- Hard-wired appliance replacement and swap-outs

### Overview
The electrical side of household appliances is licensed electrical work in NSW — a blown oven element, a dead cooktop hob, a dishwasher that trips the safety switch, or a fridge that won't start are all faults an electrician diagnoses and repairs. We carry common oven elements, thermostats, hob switches and starting capacitors on the van, and most repairs are done the same visit.
Common jobs across Sydney: oven not heating (element or thermostat), cooktop with one dead hob (element or switch), induction cooktop with error code (control board or induction coil), dishwasher tripping the RCD (heater element earth leak — extremely common), washing machine that fills but won't spin (motor brushes or capacitor), dryer that runs but no heat (element or thermostat), fridge/freezer that won't start (compressor start relay or capacitor).
Where the appliance is beyond economical repair we say so — no upselling parts into a dying machine. Hard-wired swap-outs of a new oven, cooktop or dryer are also part of our scope, including any circuit or isolator upgrades needed.

### Fixed pricing
$180–$550 AUD per repair · 12-month workmanship warranty · typical duration 1.5 hours

### How we handle it
1. **Diagnose** — Isolate the appliance, test elements and switches with a multimeter.
2. **Source part** — Order OEM element or thermostat where available.
3. **Fit and test** — Fit replacement part, functional test at rated load.
4. **Advise** — Written note on remaining life and any additional wear items.

### Standards
- AS/NZS 3760 — In-service safety inspection

### FAQs
**Can any electrician repair appliances?**
The electrical work on hard-wired appliances (ovens, cooktops, hardwired dryers, hardwired dishwashers) is licensed electrical work in NSW. We handle the electrical side — for warranty repairs on modern appliances still under manufacturer warranty, the OEM technician is usually the better call.

**How much does an oven element replacement cost?**
Typically $250-$450 fitted including the element, depending on brand and access. Genuine parts for premium brands (Miele, Gaggenau, Neff) cost more.

**Is my dishwasher tripping the safety switch a big problem?**
It's usually a failed heater element earth-leaking to the tub — very common on dishwashers 5-10 years old. Element replacement is a routine fix on most brands.

**Should I repair or replace my appliance?**
Rule of thumb: if the repair is more than 50% of a new appliance and the machine is more than 8 years old, replace. We tell you honestly on the diagnostic visit — no upselling doomed repairs.

**Can you install a new oven or cooktop I've bought?**
Yes — supply-only install of your new hard-wired oven, cooktop or dryer including any isolator or circuit upgrade required. Certificate of Compliance issued.

**Do you carry parts on the van?**
We carry common oven elements, thermostats, hob switches, motor brushes and starting capacitors for major brands (Westinghouse, Chef, Bosch, Fisher & Paykel, Electrolux). Rare parts are ordered on a 2-5 day turnaround.

## Underfloor Ventilation
URL: https://empireelectricalcontractors.com.au/services/underfloor-ventilation
Subfloor fans and moisture ventilation for Sydney homes

Damp subfloor, musty smells, or termite/rot reports on your inspection? A properly-installed underfloor ventilation system dries the space out and protects your timber, insulation and health.

### What's included
- Subfloor extraction fan supply and install (240V and solar)
- Humidity-sensor controllers for demand-based running
- Duct install to draw air across the full subfloor
- Additional vent grille cutting and installation
- Replacement of failed or noisy existing subfloor fans
- Timer and smart-home integration

### Overview
Sydney's older suspended timber-floor homes were designed for natural cross-ventilation under the floor — but decades of concrete paths, landscaping and additions have blocked most of those vents. The result is damp subfloor air, timber that swells and rots, insulation that stops working, and a musty smell that never quite leaves. A properly-designed underfloor ventilation system solves it by pulling the humid air out and drawing dry air in through the remaining vents.
We inspect the subfloor first — measure the humidity, check for standing water, note the direction of airflow and the state of the bearers and joists. A single well-placed extraction fan is often enough for a small cottage; larger homes need 2-3 fans and sometimes short ducts to reach dead corners. Humidity-sensor controllers run the fans only when the air is damp, which keeps power use tiny and stops noise complaints.
For heritage terraces we can install the fans on brick-line vents so nothing is visible from the street. Solar-DC fans are an option where there's no easy power source under the floor.

### Fixed pricing
$1,400–$4,500 AUD per install · 24-month workmanship warranty · typical duration 5 hours

### How we handle it
1. **Inspect** — Subfloor inspection with moisture readings at multiple locations.
2. **Design** — Fan count, ducting layout and humidistat control specified.
3. **Install** — Fans mounted, ducting run to opposite vents, weatherproof cabling and switching installed.
4. **Commission** — Humidistat set, moisture baseline recorded and follow-up check scheduled.

### Standards
- BCA Volume Two — Ventilation of subfloor spaces
- AS/NZS 3000:2018 — wiring rules

### FAQs
**How do I know if I need underfloor ventilation?**
Signs include musty ground-floor smell, damp bearers or joists on inspection, timber floor cupping or softness, and pre-purchase or termite reports flagging high subfloor humidity. We measure the moisture on the first visit to confirm.

**How much does a subfloor ventilation system cost?**
A single-fan install with humidity control runs $890-$1,400 fitted. Larger homes needing 2-3 fans, ducting and additional vents typically land $2,400-$4,200. Fixed quote after a subfloor inspection.

**How loud are the fans?**
Modern EC-motor subfloor fans are around 30-38 dB at 1m — quieter than a fridge. Humidity-sensor controllers also mean they aren't running most of the time.

**Can you install solar-powered subfloor fans?**
Yes — solar-DC fans with a small roof-mounted panel are a great option where the subfloor has no easy power source or you want zero running cost. Best for daytime-only ventilation.

**Will this fix a mould problem?**
Underfloor ventilation dries the subfloor cavity, which stops the source of much ground-floor moisture and mould. Existing mould on walls or ceilings needs remediation separately — we can recommend the right specialist.

**Do you handle the vent grille cutting through brickwork?**
Yes — additional vent grilles cored through brick or masonry are part of most installs where existing airflow is insufficient.

## Insurance Electrical Works
URL: https://empireelectricalcontractors.com.au/services/insurance-electrical
Storm, water and fire damage electrical scope for insurers

Storm ripped the roof off? Water damage from a burst pipe? Fire in a room? We attend the make-safe, scope the electrical works for your insurer, and complete the restoration under the claim.

### What's included
- 24/7 emergency make-safe after storms, fire and floods
- Written scope of electrical works for insurers and loss adjusters
- Full restoration — rewiring, board replacement, lighting, testing
- Direct billing to major insurers where authorised
- Coordination with builders, plasterers and restoration crews
- Compliance certificate on completion for the claim file

### Overview
When a storm rips the roof off, a burst pipe floods a ceiling, or a kitchen fire takes out a wall, the electrical side of the recovery is a specialist job — safety-critical, well-documented, and paid by the insurer. We attend the make-safe 24/7, isolate the damaged circuits, scope the full electrical restoration in writing for your insurer or loss adjuster, and complete the work under the claim.
Typical insurance jobs across Sydney include storm damage to service lines and switchboards (often a combined Level 2 + switchboard job), water damage from burst hot-water systems, dishwashers and blocked downpipes soaking ceiling wiring and downlights, lightning-strike damage to appliances and boards, and post-fire full rewiring of damaged rooms. Every job includes a written scope for the claim, photos of the damage, itemised parts and labour, and a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work on completion.
We work directly with the major insurers, builders and restoration companies — you're not chasing paperwork, we send it. Where the damage is beyond partial repair we scope the full rewire so the property is returned to a compliant and safe state, not just patched.

### Fixed pricing
$450–$15,000 AUD per claim · 24-month workmanship warranty · typical duration 4 hours

### How we handle it
1. **Attend and make-safe** — Isolate damaged circuits, install temporary supply if required.
2. **Scope and report** — Written scope of works with photos supplied to the insurer or loss adjuster.
3. **Rectify** — Replace damaged switchboard, cabling and accessories to current standards.
4. **Certify** — CCEW and completion report issued for the insurer.

### Standards
- AS/NZS 3000:2018 — Wiring rules
- NSW Fair Trading — Home Building Act

### FAQs
**Do you deal directly with the insurer?**
Yes — we submit the scope, photos and quote directly to your insurer or loss adjuster and can direct-bill the claim where the insurer authorises it. You don't chase the paperwork.

**How fast can you attend a make-safe?**
24/7 attendance across Sydney — typically on site within 60-90 minutes for genuine safety emergencies (live damaged cables, sparks, exposed wiring after storm/fire).

**Can you work under my builder's insurance rebuild scope?**
Yes — we regularly deliver the electrical trade inside builder-led insurance rebuilds, working to their program and reporting to the insurer through them.

**What does an insurance electrical scope include?**
Written scope with photos, description of damage, itemised parts and labour, and the compliance certification approach. Enough for the insurer's assessor to authorise the work.

**Will the whole switchboard need replacing after a water incident?**
Not always. We meter the board and each circuit and only recommend replacement where insulation resistance has degraded or safety switches won't reset cleanly. Full documentation goes to the insurer either way.

**Do you provide a compliance certificate for the claim file?**
Yes — Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work is issued on completion and provided with the final claim documentation.

## Preventative Maintenance
URL: https://empireelectricalcontractors.com.au/services/preventative-maintenance
Scheduled electrical maintenance for homes, strata and business

Fix problems before they fail. Scheduled electrical maintenance for strata, commercial and high-value residential — inspections, RCD testing, thermal scans and a documented report every visit.

### What's included
- Annual / biannual electrical safety inspection
- RCD test, exit-light log and switchboard thermal scan
- Emergency lighting compliance (AS 2293)
- Strata common-area electrical maintenance
- Commercial and industrial planned maintenance
- Documented report and defect list every visit

### Overview
The cheapest electrical work is the fault you catch before it happens. Overheating breakers, loose neutrals, degraded RCDs, water-affected junctions and dying emergency-light batteries all give warning signs long before they trigger a fire or an outage — if someone is looking. Scheduled preventative maintenance is that someone.
For residential clients we offer an annual safety inspection covering the switchboard, every RCD (walk-tested), every smoke alarm, exposed junctions and outdoor fittings, with a written report and a prioritised defect list. Strata schemes get common-area maintenance on a 6 or 12-monthly cycle — switchboards, emergency and exit lighting to AS 2293, common-area GPOs and lighting, fire-panel electrical integrity. Commercial and industrial contracts are custom-scoped: switchboard thermal imaging, test-and-tag, RCD testing, emergency lighting log, and monthly/quarterly/annual walk-downs to suit the site.
Every visit ends with a written report — what was tested, what passed, what needs attention, and what we recommend. Insurance, WHS and building code audits become paperwork exercises instead of scrambles.

### Fixed pricing
$450–$6,000 AUD per visit · 12-month workmanship warranty · typical duration 4 hours

### How we handle it
1. **Plan** — Schedule agreed with facilities, work permits arranged.
2. **Inspect** — Visual inspection, torque check, thermal scan, RCD test and insulation resistance.
3. **Report** — Written report with photos, defect list and priority ratings.
4. **Rectify** — Approved defects rectified during the same visit where safe.

### Standards
- AS/NZS 3019 — Electrical installations — Periodic verification

### FAQs
**Why do I need preventative electrical maintenance?**
Faults that show early warning signs (heat, tiny leakage current, degraded insulation) are cheap to fix. The same faults left alone become fires, outages or major failures. Insurance and WHS increasingly require documented maintenance too.

**How often should the switchboard be inspected?**
Residential: every 5 years or after any board work. Strata common areas: every 12 months. Commercial and industrial: annually with a thermal scan, and more often on high-load boards.

**Do you test emergency and exit lighting?**
Yes — 6-monthly discharge tests to AS 2293, log book updated, failed batteries and fittings quoted for replacement.

**Can you handle test and tag on the same cycle?**
Yes — combined maintenance + test-and-tag rounds on 3, 6 or 12-monthly cycles are common on office, hospitality and industrial contracts.

**How is a strata common-area contract priced?**
Per building based on switchboard size, number of emergency lights, common-area asset count and visit frequency. Fixed annual price, no surprises.

**Do you provide the reports in a format our strata software understands?**
Yes — PDF reports with photos and a prioritised defect list; formatted for Strata Master, Cirrus8 and most major strata platforms.

## Thermal Imaging
URL: https://empireelectricalcontractors.com.au/services/thermal-imaging
Thermal scans of switchboards, motors and cable joints

See the fault before it fails. Infrared thermal scans of switchboards, motors, cable joints and connections — with an insurer-grade written report on every hotspot.

### What's included
- Switchboard thermal scan (residential, strata and commercial)
- Motor, VSD and MCC thermal inspection
- Cable joint, termination and busbar hotspot detection
- Insurer and WHS-grade written report with images
- Load-tested scans (measured on real running load)
- Follow-up remediation of any defects found

### Overview
Every loose termination, overloaded circuit and degrading breaker runs hotter than its neighbours. Thermal imaging finds those hotspots without touching the equipment or shutting the site down — a licensed electrician with a proper thermal camera scans the switchboard, motors and cable joints under real load and captures the temperature of every connection.
For residential and strata clients we scan the main and distribution boards for hotspots (loose neutrals, overloaded circuits, failing RCBOs) and issue a written report. For commercial and industrial sites we scan on a scheduled cycle — main switchrooms, MCCs, motor terminations, VSDs, busbars and cable joints — under measured running load, with each hotspot photographed, temperature-tagged, and cross-referenced to the equipment ID.
The report is designed for insurance and WHS audits: image + reference, measured temperature, ambient reference, severity rating, and a recommended action. Where you'd like the defect fixed at the same visit we can do that under our maintenance scope.

### Fixed pricing
$350–$1,800 AUD per site · 12-month workmanship warranty · typical duration 2 hours

### How we handle it
1. **Load-up** — Confirm the board is under normal operating load before scanning.
2. **Scan** — FLIR thermal camera captures every termination and breaker face.
3. **Report** — Delta-T findings tabled with photos and severity rating.
4. **Rectify** — Hot terminations retorqued, defective components replaced.

### Standards
- AS/NZS 3019 — Periodic verification

### FAQs
**How much does a thermal scan cost?**
A residential switchboard scan with written report starts at $180. Commercial and industrial scans are priced per site and asset count — we quote against your list of switchboards, motors and terminations.

**Do I need to shut the site down?**
No — the opposite. Scans need to be done under real running load, so the site stays live. We just need switchboard doors safely opened for the imaging window.

**What does the report look like?**
PDF with paired visual and thermal images, measured temperature, ambient reference, severity rating (advisory / important / urgent) and recommended action for every hotspot found.

**Will insurers accept your report?**
Yes — the report format is written for insurer and WHS audit purposes, and includes camera calibration date, technician licence and image metadata.

**How often should we scan?**
Residential main board: after any major works or if the board feels warm. Strata common-area boards: annually. Commercial: annually. Industrial with critical motors and MCCs: 6-monthly.

**Can you fix the hotspot the same visit?**
Usually yes — most hotspots are loose terminations that can be re-torqued or replaced on the spot under our maintenance scope. Deeper defects (failing breakers, cable damage) are quoted separately.

## Test & Tag
URL: https://empireelectricalcontractors.com.au/services/test-tag
Portable appliance testing and tagging for workplaces

Compliant portable appliance testing to AS/NZS 3760 for offices, hospitality, construction and industrial sites. Digital register, colour-coded tags, and reminders when you're due.

### What's included
- AS/NZS 3760 test and tag on portable appliances

We test to the standard, tag every item with a colour-coded sticker, and hand you a digital register that tracks what's on site, what's passed, what's failed and when each item is next due.
Frequency depends on the environment: office and admin equipment is typically every 12 months; hospitality, kitchens and hire equipment every 6 months; construction and industrial every 3 months. We run scheduled visits on that cycle, remind you before the next round, and can also test any new-to-service equipment before it hits the floor.
Failed items are tagged out immediately, photographed for the register, and quoted for repair or replacement — so you keep a defensible paper trail for WHS and insurance.

### Fixed pricing
$6–$15 AUD per item · 12-month workmanship warranty · typical duration 3 hours

### How we handle it
1. **Register** — Every portable item logged with asset ID and location.
2. **Test** — Earth continuity, insulation resistance and polarity per AS/NZS 3760.
3. **Tag** — Pass tag with test date and next test due date affixed to each item.
4. **Report** — Register supplied with pass/fail summary and next due dates.

### Standards

Yes — every item is logged in a digital register with test date, result, tester name and next-due date. Emailed to you as PDF and CSV.

**What happens if an item fails?**
It's tagged out immediately with a red 'DO NOT USE' tag, photographed, and quoted for repair or replacement. Failed items are logged separately so your WHS records are clean.

**Can you test at construction sites?**
Yes — 3-monthly cycles on construction tools and leads, on-site attendance with the appropriate PPE and induction paperwork.

**Do you send a reminder when I'm due again?**
Yes — email reminders 30 days before the next round is due, so you don't get caught out on an audit.
