## What's included
- 4K IP CCTV camera design and install (Hikvision, Dahua, Uniview)
- PoE network video recorder (NVR) setup with app viewing
- True IR night vision and low-light colour cameras
- Doorbell and intercom camera integration
- Existing analogue upgrade to IP
- On-site playback, cloud backup and mobile access

## Overview
A properly designed CCTV system is a burglary deterrent, an evidence tool, and a way to check on the property from anywhere. We design and install IP CCTV — 4K cameras over PoE cabling to a hard-wired NVR — not battery Wi-Fi cameras that drop out when you need them most. Every install includes on-site local recording (30-60 days), mobile app viewing, and optional cloud backup for critical footage.
Camera choice matters more than resolution. We spec turret or dome cameras for the front and back of the property, a wide-angle bullet for the driveway, and a low-light colour camera for the darkest approach — with true IR (not just "night mode" that greys out at 5m). Doorbells, intercoms and access-control cameras integrate with the same NVR so you have one app for everything.
As registered ACMA cablers we run the CAT6 neatly through the roof space and down internal walls, with the NVR in a cupboard, garage or comms cabinet — no exposed cable, no daisy-chained power supplies, no ugly rooftop conduit. Full walk-through on the app included on hand-over.

## Fixed pricing
$1,200–$6,500 AUD per system. Workmanship warranty 24 months. Typical on-site duration ~6 hours.

## Symptoms we hear about
- No coverage of side gates or driveway
- Old analogue system with grainy footage
- NVR full and overwriting evidence

## Common causes
- Poor camera placement
- Legacy 720p cameras
- Undersized storage

## How we handle it
1. **Site walk** — We map coverage, identify blind spots and confirm cable paths.
2. **Design** — Camera count, resolution, storage retention and remote-viewing spec confirmed in writing.
3. **Install** — Cat6 pulled to each camera position, NVR installed, cameras aimed and focused.
4. **Handover** — Mobile app configured, retention verified, one-page cheat sheet supplied.

## Applicable standards
- AS/NZS 3000:2018 — extra-low voltage wiring
- NSW Surveillance Devices Act 2007

## Recent anonymised jobs
### Doorbell camera and NVR integration
A Epping homeowner wanted their existing cameras and a new doorbell camera on one system. We integrated the doorbell into the existing NVR, ran a dedicated PoE line to the front door and tested the combined recording. a rapidly densifying suburb near the metro station where new apartment compliance work and older home rewiring are both common
Outcome: Doorbell and existing cameras unified on one recording system.. Approx. 160 minutes on site.

### Four-camera system with mobile access
An owner in Epping wanted eyes on the driveway and both side gates. We ran cabling from a discreet NVR position to four PoE cameras, aimed each for plate-readable coverage and set up phone alerts. a rapidly densifying suburb near the metro station where new apartment compliance work and older home rewiring are both common Postcode 2121 is on our daily Ryde/Hills run, and every cctv security job there is quoted up front and completed to AS/NZS 3000.
Outcome: Four PoE cameras recording locally, mobile alerts configured.. Approx. 420 minutes on site.

## FAQs
**How many cameras do I need?**
Most homes are well covered by 4-6 cameras: front door, driveway, side access, backyard, and (optionally) an internal downstairs zone. Larger properties or businesses usually run 8-16.

**How much does a CCTV install cost in Sydney?**
A neatly installed 4-camera 4K IP system with NVR and app viewing starts around $2,200. 8-camera systems from $3,400. Commercial systems with access control or ANPR are quoted per site.

**Can I view the cameras on my phone?**
Yes — every install includes mobile app setup on your phone, with push notifications on motion, live viewing and playback from anywhere.

**How long does the footage stay?**
Standard configuration keeps 30-60 days of continuous recording locally on the NVR hard drive. Optional cloud backup preserves motion clips longer for critical events.

**IP or analogue — what should I install?**
IP over PoE, every time. It's higher resolution, uses one cable per camera, is easier to expand, and integrates with doorbells and access control. Analogue is legacy tech we only recommend when reusing existing coax on a budget.

**Can you upgrade my existing analogue system?**
Yes — either full replacement to IP/PoE, or a hybrid recorder that keeps your existing coax for some cameras while adding IP cameras where you need higher resolution.

**Are you a registered cabler?**
Yes — registered ACMA cabler, which is legally required in Australia for any CCTV/data cabling work.
